“stone polishing?” he might as
well have been speaking in tongues but I had no idea what he was talking about.
So I did what any reasonable person in the 21st century would and I googled
it. That was when I came across a website that had one of those talking
features. Some young lady went on and on how stone is the new thing in
landscaping, how my satisfaction was their number one priority and also
something to do with concrete sealing. I was impressed right away and decided
to go with these new thing. So it was a fountain in the backyard complemented
by a set of rocks polished to perfection. For the floors I decided to go with
marble floors with the establishment promising to do free concrete sealing
before installing them.
Other than having an absolutely awesome
backyard and floor fit for a king. Another thing that really intrigued was the
art that could come out of the stone. I being the kind of guy who always wanted
to learn everything thought to myself “I can do that” plus with this new skill
I knew I could make a killing especially in my neighborhood where I knew people
with terrible landscaping. Hence I started my self-taught classes on stone
polishing and quickly learnt that for softer rocks it was called tumbling.
First and foremost I did a little research to
see there would be a market the skills I wished to acquire. The conclusion I
came up with was that what was most demanded was concrete sealing as there is no concrete
sealing for dummies. I haven’t seen it anyway. Another thing was that the
things you could do with stone are limitless. You could do different designs,
shapes and even colors. I also discovered there were people took it as a hobby
and I was about to discover why.
In span of six months I had learnt the basics
of stone polishing and I was reasonably good. The money was coming in fast as
even the pieces I made as a practice I sold. Whatever I produced from stone was
considered art. Though new works were basically what most call stone curving I
decided to call to market myself as a stone polisher and concentrated in
restoring old works and putting huge
rocks in the middle of people’s houses and getting paid for it.

different ways. I now would confidently say that stone polishing and concrete
sealing is it. I never had any sort of premonition or any
vision. It came to as more of a matter of necessity. So look around you. The
